Venom Snare Dual BigV Wins

It was a big weekend for Warrandyte Venom's Big V women with dual wins propelling them back to the top of the Division One ladder. Coming off a week's break, it took the Venom a while to get going on Saturday night against a plucky Hawthorn Magic.

At one stage in the first half Warrandyte found themselves 18 points down, however a committed performance in the second half resulted in a stirring comeback with the Venom getting up to celebrate a memorable 66-61 victory.

On Sunday, Warrandyte traveled to Diamond Valley to take on the fresh Eagles with top spot going to the winner. The games was an absolute ripper throughout with Warrandyte holding sway for the most part.

In a tense final quarter, the Venom showed their experience and silenced the Eagles' fans with a gutsy 57-52 win.

In a true team effort, the Warrandyte coaching staff praised the entire group and rated the weekend as one of the best in the club's short Big V existence.

Next up for the Venom is a trip to Coburg this Saturday night to play the fourth-placed Giants.
