Postman Pavlich

Geez, easy to be a sideline critic, but what is it with Pavlich and the post?

I was at the game last Saturday when the Blues got over the top of Freo and Pavlich had the chance to take that game by the scruff of the neck, as he was the dominant player in the first 10 mins of that final quarter.  He is obviously very strong, brilliantly balanced and great skills overhead, at ground level and generally kicks well - but, where does his kicking boot go in the 4th?

Again yesterday against the Power, a crucial poster in the 4th that would have brought Freo back to 9 points with 6 minutes to play.

I have no doubt he is carrying the weight of the dockers on his back and no doubt he's got the yips.  Watching the TV, you just know Freo aren't going to make it through to the end of the 4th quarter and now, we also know that its better than 50/50 that Pavlich won't kick these crucial 4th quarter goals.

Not trying to can the bloke - I am sure the other 15 teams would have him on their squads; but obviously raises the old questions and a bit of banter....

Put these blokes in order, please - as CHF - not wingers or on-ballers.  Are any of these blokes 'champions' based on goalkicking under pressure?

1/ Matthew Pavlich

2/ Matthew Richardson

3/ Nick Riewoldt

And don't tell me that these blokes are within a bull's roar of Franklin at present - even with Franklin's 50% conversion rate, he is gold (almost as good as Fev!)

Mate, here's the mail ...... the three blokes you've mentioned ARE NOT one-man teams. I'm sick of people blaming a missed shot here or there by Pavlich as the reason for Freo's poor last quarters. There are 17 other players on the ground! Come on Freo, stand up and take some responsibility!

If Pavlich has the Yips.. will the Yapper ever suffer from the Yaps? Or does he already

incorrect yapper - when pavlich is 20 metres out, is a leader of the team and can't slot it through the big sticks, it is not only discouraging for those doing the hard work to feed him the ball, but it also sets a precedent for the team as a whole.
now, i agree that there is responsibility across the ground, but they don't pay pavlich the big dollars to kick points in crunch time.
BTW - i'd have him before richardson and riewoldt

Spoken like a true Carlton supporter. It's all about Fevola or all about Judd. What about the TEAM? Don't blame the individual, blame the bloody team. Carlton supporters - pathetic!
