Slow Start to 2009
Feeling refreshed after our short christmas break, the Flames girls were back on the training paddocks on the 30th of December with a Mini Olympics organised by our fabolous strength and conditioning trainner Marty Harland.
Spirits were high at our first session back and all signs throughout the week indicated that we would have a great hit out for our first game against Perth for 2009.
Unfortunatley we dropped the Perth game, which was dissapointing as it made our Team goals of making the finals just that little bit harder.
Our second game against Logan the next week was a tough encounter. Logan Thunder shot extremely well and our team did not adjust and came out short at the end of the game.
Our next home game is against Perth, which we will be looking to consolidate a win and help keep our goal alive of making the top 5 and the play offs!
Its been a tough night at training, but spirits are still high at the Flames Quarters....and we are determined to get our slow start to the new year a boost and get our campaign for the finals on the way!
Hope to see you at the games
Eva
