Pukekohe 1 Melchester 3-Comeback Kings!

A fantastic team performance away to Pukekohe secured our second win of the season.

We fell behind to an early goal which Lincoln spilled and they followed up clinically. We seem to start games very slowly and will need to improve this in training if we are to have a good season.

After the first 20 minutes we began to get into a stride and began to pass the ball about.

We got our just rewards when Rob Mc Dowell timed his run perfectly on the wing and slid the ball past Puke's GK.

Both teams played team football and could have possibly have scored one more goal each befre half-time.

A good team talk by Man of the Match Steve Flack inspired us to the grittiest and most determined football we have played.

The sun proved our worst enemy however the opposition didn't seem to take advantage of this.

Luke scored a first class free kick  to make it 2-1. They threw everything at us but we held firm with some solid defending. The midfield and forwards worked their socks off too.

Peter Ulrich scored our third as the final whistle blew.  A flattering scoreline in the end but we worked hard for it!

Next week the all Fencibles clash. Let's try and make it 10 points!

TEAM: Lincoln/Colin/Paul/Matt/Steve(MOTM)/Luke(1)/Dani/Peter(1)/Jon H/Rob K/Bruce/Rob McD(1)/Hirsty
