Big Ears to the rescue!

Well the Shadowspulse finally returned to the winners circle last night.  Might have had something to do with the 7 foot ex NBL player who we had as a ring in.  Nah it was all the rest of us.  Actually the gamebreaker was none other than Ashley "Big Ears" Davidson who came to the rescue last night in crunch time, even though he had to be reminded of the fact 5 minutes after the game as he had forgotten what he did.

After we mounted a big lead on the back of the new recruit's powerful inside game he had to sit for awhile and then the oppostion heated up and drew to within one point after going to a man to man against us.  Nick returned to the court, however Ash was already going to work, he posted up with a tough three point play move.  Then he turned and made a lovely baseline swish jumpshot and finished off the game with the sweetest reverse layup to ice the game on the last possession.

Finally a win and a great team effort with everyone contributing as well.

Highlights:

Ash - Sweet reversal to win the game as mentioned above.

Cade - Knocked out many jumpshots and with big Nick in the middle was looking very happy indeed about playing Marquette next time if he was in the lineup.

Nick - The new addition was 7 foot tall and built like Hulk Hogan his arms where like our legs! Fast, agile not a bad player really!

Al - Found Nick!! and using an old teachers name to put an opposition player off when shooting foulshots was inspired basketball.

Reg - Performed the slowest McHale move at the end looked like he'd faked out the opposition but they had actually fallen asleep halfway through the move.

Regs - knocked out threes, and must have grabbed 10 weakside rebounds with big Nick holding down the middle.

Baff - knocked out a sweet three and made some of the best little lob passes inside to the big guy.

Bye next week!  We can watch the NBA

yeay

I've never seen Ash drive that much. And after he nailed 2 LONG threes in warm ups!
Good win ! And we didn't even notice the Refs !

Good to get a win against the Hawks for the first time in years, even if we had to resort to 7ft ring ins.

Reg said to me at one point "if I don't score soon I'm sitting". So of course he hits the next two looking like a cross between Hakeem Olajuwon and Fred Astaire!

Ash must have been studying Dallas tapes since last week that fadeaway jumper was pure Dirk.
