The third quarter remained even more closer as the Lions kicked four goals back at struggling Essendon only kicking one goal and three behinds in the quarter.

HAWTHORN WIN GRAND FINAL BEATING GEELONG!!!!!!!

HAWTHORN WIN GRAND FINAL BEATING GEELONG!!!!!!!

On September 27th,

Hawthorn played Geelong in the Toyota AFL Grand Final televised LIVE on Channel Seven.

The First three quarters were an in-depth battle between the top teams but in the last quarter Hawthorn finally got away with a lead and had a FANTASTIC WIN.

Everyone expected Lance 'Buddy' Franklin to kick a ton of goals but to the 100,012 crowd saw him only kick two goals that uplifted the side.

It was a battle between Luke Hodge and Gary Ablett to win the Norm Smith medal but to the Hawthorn supporter's delight, 'Hodgie' won the prestigious medal even though he was suffering an injury to his ribs. Anyway, Geelong's Gary Ablett still got to show off his midfielding skills.

The pre-match highlight was Shane Crawfords remark 'That's what im talking about!!'

Lions: Another Close Loss

Lions: Another Close Loss

The Brisbane Lions lost to the roos on Saturday mainly because of Brisbane's Bad play in the last 5 minutes where Brisbane were 10 points up at Carrara but the roos followed through to win by firstly getting it out of the lions forward line with ease and then kicking a goal and then soon after Brady Rawlings had made his way onto the field made an unreal mark and then kicked the sealer with seconds left.

Leigh Mathews believes that the lions just haven't been playing well in the last minutes.

Melbourne end up Lucky

Melbourne end up Lucky

On Sunday at the MCG, Brisbane and the demons had a mighty fight. With the Demons only 1 win, and the lions 8 wins, the odds of the match were pretty obvious. The Demons dominated in the 1st quarter  but only to be caught up to at half time with the scores Melbourne 42 and Brisbane nearly there at 39.

The 4th quarter was very long as with 8 minutes left Daniel Bradshaw had nearly saved the lions from defeat with an 11 point lead. Only for the demons to get a for no reason 50 metre penalty and Goal. With 30 secs left of the hard fight the scores were Brisbane in front 81 points and Melbourne 5 points behind with 76 points. At the last few secs Brad Miller took a miracle mark right in front of goal on the siren, leading to the demons win.
