FIND (PART OF) MY FAMILY

On Wednesday 1st April, 2009, I was watching the show “FIND MY FAMILY” and I finally decided I had to do something to try to locate cousins on my father’s side I had not seen for 60 years. Dad died when I was only 10 months old and Mum re-married when I was 4. She kept in contact with my Dad’s parents, two sisters and two brothers until I was about 12, but then we lost contact with them. In VIC, Saturday Pennant teams play 25 ends with tea-break after 13. NSW play 21 ends, no break. In Vic, players are tense during break and rarely talk to opponents. Most then leave as soon as play ends because it is so late. After the game in NSW, the players are relaxed (the winners and losers having been decided) and most have time to stay for a drink and "nibblies" and a chance to get to know their opponents. Which is the better system?

I retired in Sept and Im getting back into my bowls. Ive just joined Wynnum Manly in Brissy so I can play with my neice and great neice and preparing for the Oz Open. Cant wait......You have so many friends on here. Hows your bowls going?

Howday Ranndy - been playing about 5 years - enjoy playing at different clubs socially when on holidays. Always looking to improve my game and encourage others to have a go

Gordon, It's great to be back in the saddle! How did you go for Chadstone on the weekend? Our side got up with 3 rinks and 28 shots up over Ringwood at Ringwood. Good to get on the board early! I've also started doing a podcast for Melbourne Premier Division - since the Association won't promote the game! Anyway, there's a link to it on my MyBowls page. It's only 5 minutes long and I'd appreciate it if you had a listen and let me know what you think.
