A competitive effort for three quarters was not enough for the Eastern Mavericks men, going down 109-89 to Forestville after giving up 36 points in the first quarter.

With 6 lead changes and the scores tied three times, Forestville’s women managed to maintain a 3 point margin over the final 5 minutes, defeating Eastern 62-59.

Sam Daly’s late game heroics provided Sturt with a surprise 79-75 upset over championship contender Woodville on Saturday night at Pasadena.

Sturt maintained their excellent early season form with a grinding win over the Warriors at home on Saturday night, overcoming the visitors 66-38.

A stunning shooting display from Kyle Miller has catapulted Central Districts to an upset 89-80 win over the Daniel Johnson-less Bearcats at Starplex on Saturday.

The Lady Bearcats ventured north this week and after a dour struggle for three quarters, managed to notch up their third away win with a 20 point victory over the young Lions.

Adam Doyle never made a state team or junior development squad, and faced serious doubt that he’d ever play basketball beyond junior level. Fast-forward to a breakout 2012 season, and the young Forestville point guard has quickly become one of the stars of the CABL competition.

When the senior men took the court, Eastern shot out of the blocks with their strongest quarter of the season, but were chased down and beaten in the following three as Sturt took out the 14 point win 95-81.

In round 6 of the Central Australian Basketball League the Eastern Mavericks hosted the Sturt Sabres. Sturt’s women came to Mt. Barker undefeated with a 5-0 record but the Mavericks 49 per cent Field Goal efficiency and defensive pressure handed the Sabres their first loss of the season 95-79.

The Eagles continue to remind teams they are a legitimate chance of a "three-peat" after triumphing in an 86-82 thriller over the Tigers at Morphett Vale on Saturday night, despite missing key players Neil Mottram and Trent Fildes.

A terrific first quarter by Forestville set up a massive 51 point victory over Central Districts at home on ANZAC Day.

The Eagles may have finished hard and fast but just fell short of a win, going down to Centrals by five points at Wayville on ANZAC Day.

The Lady Bearcats kept the Norwood Flames to their lowest score of the season, but it wasn’t enough for the win as the Flames triumphed 62-53.
