Australian Gems team in 2011 playing in pre-World Championship tournament in China; 2010 FIBA U17 World Championship for Women in France. They placed 7th ; 2009 FIBA U19 World Championship in Thailand (5th); FIBA Oceania U17 Championship in Brisbane (Gold); Australian Youth Olympic Festival, Sydney (Gold). 2008 FIBA Oceania U19 Championship; FIBA Oceania Youth Tournament, Guam (Gold).

Gretel was named Betty Watson WNBL Rookie of the Year for season 2010/11; Gretel played 11 games for the AIS in season 2010/11 and averaged 11 points and 6.9 rebounds, before joining the Logan Thunder in December 2010. Gretel played 10 games including two finals for the Thunder averaging 7.1 points and 3.4 rebounds; Gretel was named WNBL Player of the Week in Round 18 where she scored a career high 18 points on 19 February 2011; 2009/10 was Gretel's debut season in the WNBL. She played in 8 games and averaged 8.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game. Gretel recorded a career high 15 points on January 31, 2009 and a career best seven rebounds in the final game of the season on February 12 in the AIS’s only win. She trained with the Logan Thunder WNBL team before joining the AIS.

Gretel brings size, athleticism and versatility to the group. She has the ability to play inside or outside effectively. She can shoot the three point shot, drive both ways from the perimeter or post up on the inside and is a very good rebounder. Gretel will continue to develop her shooting technique and range, ball-handling, mid-range game and one-on-one offensive and defensive skills throughout 2010-11.
