Bill is having a tremendous season in the Spanish league but is really looking forward to being home for Christmas. He only gets a 2 week break then has some really tough games coming up.

It's been a fun 12 months with young Hikaru Homma but the moment finally arrived for him to head home to Japan last week and say "sayonara" to his friends at the WheelKings.

Wenty Leagues WheelKings surprised the pundits this afternoon with a remarkable win in the final of the Sydney Wheelchair Basketball League. The Old School team also did well to win the playoff for third.

The finals for the Sydney Wheelchair Basketball League are on this Sunday at Marrickville PCYC. The Wenty WheelKings and the Old School WheelKings are in different semi's so it could be an all WheelKings final (or playoff for 3rd but hey let's be positive!)

In a feelgood story that doesn't happen too often these days, WheelKings and Gliders guard Tina McKenzie had her missing Beijing bronze medal returned.

It was a tight contest throughout the preliminary rounds in Division One of the Sydney Wheelchair Basketball League. Both WheelKings teams had some very good performances and quite a few cliffhangers.

Bill Latham returned to Spain around 7 weeks ago and has recently started the Division One season with his Once Andalucia team. Bill will be giving us regular insights into his life in Spain and the progress of his team.

As many of you would know, WheelKings guard Jeremy Doyle has been in hospital for 3 weeks after undergoing 2 operations to strengthen his spinal column. He is now doing well but it has been a lot more complicated than expected.

The Wenty Leagues WheelKings will be turning back a page in the history books when they wheel out a veterans team in the Sydney Wheelchair Basketball League starting tomorrow at Sutherland.

WheelKings coach Gerry Hewson, along with players Kylie Gauci and Jonathon Simon, represented the WheelKings at yesterday's Wenty Leagues Club Bowls Day. It was the 5th year in a row that the WheelKings had sent a team and they were keen to get their first ever win.

The journey to Beijing proved to be very successful for our national wheelchair basketball teams. Gold to the Boomers and bronze to the Gliders!
