She played just two games for Dandenong in her debut WNBL season, posting 13 points and 13 rebounds across both outings.

GENERAL BASKETBALL NOTES: In 2012 Alice was the top scorer for Nunawading in the SEABL.Alice made her Australian representative debut in 2006 at the Oceania Youth Tournament. In 2008 she helped Australia’s U19 Women’s team, the Gems, win qualification to the 2009 FIBA U19 World Championship and went on to compete at the world tournament, finishing fifth with the Gems while posting 4.3 points and 3 rebounds per game. Alice is a five-time national champion; from U16s in 2005 – U18s in 2008 with Victoria Metro, and in 2009 at the U20 Nationals with Victoria.

WNBL CAREER NOTES: Another strong season in 2011/12 saw Alicia lead Sydney to the finals, averaging 9.6 points and 5.7 assists per game. Alicia returned to the WNBL in season 2010/11 following two years playing in Russia and France, averaging 17.8 points per game. In WNBL season 2008/09 Alicia won the Robyn Maher Defensive Player of the Year Award playing with the Sydney Uni Flames. During 2007/08 played with the Sydney Uni Flames and averaged 14.7 points, 2.8 assists and 5.2 rebounds during the regular season. The Flames finished Runners-Up with Alicia averaging 17.5 points, 5.5 assists and 5 rebounds per finals game. After missing the 2005/06 season after sustaining an injury during Game 3 of the Oceania Series in New Zealand, Alicia's comeback year saw her amass 178 points by averaging 8.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. She played in all 21 games and ranked 8th in three point percentage (35.4%) while shooting at 44% from the field. In the 2006/07 playoffs, she played two games averaging 9.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. The 1998/99 was her best season yet, averaging 15.1 points (318 for the season) and 6.3 rebounds game. Her career kicked off at the AIS where she averaged 9.1 points per game.

COACH'S COMMENT: Alicia has worked extremely hard throughout the off season and is primed for another outstanding year. The leader of the group she will once again set the tone for the squad in working towards our goals for this coming season. She missed the whole 2010/11 season after undergoing two major knee surgeries. 2009/10 was Carley's debut season in the WNBL; she played in 4 games and averaged 5.3 points and 3 rebounds per game. 2010/11 was injury plagued season for Carley as she spent the season rehabbing.

COACH’S COMMENTS: Darcee comes to the program fresh off an A.I.S scholarship and representing the Australian Emerging Opals U19 team. Darcee is one of WA’s own homegrown talents and has great work ethic and a nose for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Darcee is another player in our roster that has had a number of international experiences over the past couple of years and is no stranger to the WNBL. We are looking forward to the impact Darcee will have in our program.

WNBL CAREER NOTES: Deanna joined the Bendigo Spirit for season 2011/12 after missing the entire 2010/11 season due to injury. She teamed up with Kristi Harrower to form a strong backcourt. In the 2009/10 season Deanna joined the Sydney Uni Flames and was named in the WNBL All-Star Five for the second consecutive season. Deanna claimed the runner-up spot for Sydney’s MVP award and was named Player of the Week twice, averaging 16.1 points and reaching double figures in 18 of 22 games. Returning to the league with the Perth Lynx in 2008/09, after three seasons overseas, Deanna was named in the All-Star Five, was the second highest scorer in the league with 20.8 points per game, and won the award for Best Free Throw Shooting Percentage after averaging a phenomenal 89.7 per cent from the free throw line. Deanna also ranked in the top ten for steals, assists, offensive rebounds, and 3-pt shooting percentage.

GENERAL BASKETBALL NOTES: 2011 and 2012 Deanna played for the Geelong Supercats in the SEABL and was Player of the Week in Round 15; 2010 Deanna spent the off-season playing with the Kilsyth Cobras in the 2010 SEABL and was one of the leading scorers in the league. Deanna was selected in the 2009 Opals squad, making the team for tours to China and Europe. Her Basketball highlights are her first game for Australia and winning the AIS Grand Final. She has played basketball in England, Portugal (Portuguese Champions), Russia (Siberia) and Italy (Northern). She represented Australia in 2002 (South East Asian Games) and has been an Australian Opals Squad Member since 2005-2009. Deanna went to America and Korea with AIS. Deanna represented Country Victoria at U16 (1995), U18 (1996 & 1997) Australian Junior Championships and Victoria at U20 Australian Junior Championships. Vic Country was U18 Champions in 1996 & 1997 and Deanna was captain in 1997. She was All Australian in 1995, 1996 & 1997.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: Deanna’s favourite basketball players are Penny Taylor, Lauren Jackson, Manu Ginobili, Magic Johnson and Steve Nash. Her favourite foods are ice cream, Allen’s Lollies, Silverside and Fruit & Vegetables! Favourite Actors are Denzel Washington, Adam Sandler, Julia Roberts and Drew Barrymore. COACH'S COMMENT: We are very happy to have Doccy back in the west. Doccy is a very versatile player that can score in a number of ways and Deanna’s defensive talents will also be called upon this season. Ellie signed with the Dandenong Rangers for the 2010/11 season, but injury saw her miss the entire season. In the 2009/10 season Ellie returned to the WNBL after a successful college career in the USA. She played in all 22 games for Sydney Uni in the regular season when she averaged 6.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. In the Flames 2 finals games Ellie averaged 5.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1 assist per game... In Ellie’s debut WNBL season in 2006/07 she played in 16 games for the AIS to average 5.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists.

2007 FIBA U19 World Championships

Ellie played two years at the Australian Institute of Sport during high school and finished her high school education at Lake Ginniederaa College in 2006… 2007/2008 Oregon Ducks Most Improved Player… FIBA U19 World Championships, 2006 U18 National Junior Championships… Ellie helped guide Australia to a fifth place finish in the FIBA U19 World Championships in 2007... The Australians finished the entire tournament with a 7-2 record and Manou averaged 6.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: Ellie is the youngest of three siblings and has an older sister and brother. She is near the completion of a Bachelor of Behavioural Science degree and is planning on continuing with her studies at the postgraduate level. Ellie enjoys spending time with her family and friends and going to the beach. She is passionate about equality and positive psychology and loves live music, street art and travelling.

COACH'S COMMENTS: Ellie has come back to the Flames program and worked hard on her fitness to be in great shape. She will add a huge amount of depth to our 4 and 5 rotation working in tandem with our other bigs. She has some nice back to basket moves but also has the ability to step out to mid-range to shoot the ball. Ellie also is an outstanding offensive rebounder who will add a great deal to our offensive structure.

GENERAL BASKETBALL NOTES: Ellyce returns to Sydney for the 2011/12 WNBL after four years at the University of Oregon, 2007/08-2010/11. Before Oregon, Ellyce was an AIS scholarship holder and a member of the Australian Gems U19 team, attending Australian Junior Camps in 2005 and 2006. She represented WA Metro at U16 (2003, 2004), U18 (2005, 2006) and U20 (2007). In Perth she has played for the Wanneroo Wolves since 2001.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: Ellyce is the eldest of four. She has two sisters, Chloe and Abbie and a brother Ben. Her family has been a major support throughout her career. Outside of basketball Ellyce enjoys the beach, shopping, cooking, watching movies and hanging out with friends. She studied Human Physiology at the University of Oregon and hopes to someday become a sport doctor.

COACH’S COMMENT: Ellyce had a great first season and we will once again look for improvement in her game. Whilst coming out of college as primarily a front to basket player she has worked extremely hard in developing her back to basket play. She will be a key player in our big’s rotation as we will face some big sides over the course of the season.

WNBL CAREER NOTES: After an outstanding 2010/11 season that saw Elyse help Bulleen to the WNBL Championship she suffered an ACL in jury playing in the SEABL ruing her out of the 2011/12 season. In the 2009/10 season, Elyse was ranked 4th in the league in field goal percentage (50.2%), 6th in offensive rebounds (2.9 per game) and 8th in blocked shots (1.1). She also averaged 13.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 blocks per game in the regular season. In two finals games Elyse posted averages of 10.5 points, 10 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1 assist. Elyse was a grand finalist with Bulleen in 2008/09 and posted career best numbers for the season; totalling 348 points, 155 rebounds, 32 blocks, 30 assists, and 27 steals...She averaged 13.9 points, 6.2 rebounds across the entire season, at the end of the regular season she was in the top ten players for blocked shots, free throw percentage and defensive rebounding...In the 2007/08 season she averaged 12.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game... Elyse played eight games for Dandenong in 2006/07 and averaged 1.9 points per game and six games with the AIS in 2004/05 where she averaged 4.7 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

GENERAL BASKETBALL NOTES: She averaged 8.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in eight games during the 2007 U21 World Championship in Russia, including scoring 18 points against Japan. Elyse won a bronze medal at the 2009 World University Summer Games and made her Opals debut also in 2009. She represented the Opals on tour to China and Europe before playing a three game series against China in Australia, and was a part of the FIBA Oceania Championship team that won qualification for the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women. She was named in the initial Opals 2010 World Championship Squad and played in a three-game series against Japan in Victoria.

She led Victoria to a gold medal at the 2003 Australian U20 National Championship where she averaged 22.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game. She was also named 2003 Victorian State Player of the Year.

Jaimee’s ability to add defensive pressure will be a key for the Flames this season. Coming off the bench she will be looked on to provide an instant spark in the games. In season 2010/11 Jenna played in only 15 games due to injury, but was instrumental in helping Bulleen to the WNBL Championship; She averaged 12.1 points, 5.1 assists and 4 rebounds per game and was named to the WNBL All-Star Five for the second-straight season…2009/10 was a breakout season for Jenna, earning her first All-Star Five appearance, she was also rewarded with the Bulleen Boomers Linda Brandt Medal for Club MVP and the Members MVP. She averaged 12 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists in the regular season and was amongst the top ten players in assists (3rd-4.7), foul shot percentage (3rd -83.6%), defensive rebounds (10th-4.6). She led the Australian U21 Sapphires in scoring at the 2007 World Championship, netting 132 points in eight games to average 16.5 per game which was also fourth best in the tournament. She also averaged 5.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. She was a member of the U19 Australian Gems team in 2003, 2004 and 2005 but missed the World Championship through injury. After a season off from the WNBL Katie-Rae joined the Sydney Uni Flames in season 2010/11 and was a revelation, playing 22 games and averaging 15 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Katie-Rae was named WNBL Player of the Month in January and finished top ten in the league for points and free throw percentage. In the 2008/09 season Katie joined the Dandenong Rangers out of the AIS. Katie posted an average of 7.1 points in 24 games at the AIS in 2007/08. She recorded 163 points, 66 rebounds and 30 assists in 2006/07 to average 8.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game across 20 games..She also shot at 82 per cent from the foul line. Katie played 21 games in 2005/06, averaging 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.

This has been a great platform for her to launch into the season with Katie being a key member of this group. In the 2009/10 season,Kristen was voted Logan Thunder’s MVP for the second consecutive year. In 2010/11 Kristi helped guide the Spirit to the Preliminary Final; she played in 20 regular season games and averaged 13.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. In two finals Kristi averaged 16.5 points and 5.5 assists per game. Kristi was also named WNBL Player of the Week in Round 10;Kristi had a stellar year in 2009/10 season and was named the WNBL Most Valuable Player. After the regular season she was first in assists per game (5.0), second in scoring (23.8 points per game), 3rd in 3-point percentage (40.0%), 4th in foul shot percentage (83.4%), 7th in defensive rebounds (5.0) and 10th in field goal percentage (48.0%), she also averaged a total of 6.5 rebounds per game. She was also named in the WNBL All-Star Five, and the Bendigo MVP. In the 2008/09 season, she was again named in the WNBL All-Star Five after leading Bendigo to the finals in just their second season in the league; she was also named in the All-Star Five in the 1997, 1998, 1998/99 and 1999/00 seasons. At the end of the regular season she was amongst the top ten players in Foul Shot Percentage, 3-Pt Percentage, Field Goal Percentage, Steals, Points Per Game (3rd), and she led the competition in assists.

GENERAL BASKETBALL NOTES: Kristi farewelled international basketball in 2012, winning Bronze with the Opals at the 2012 London Olympic Games. In season 2009/10 Lauren played in all 23 games for the Spirit. She averaged 11.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game; In the 2008/09 season Lauren signed with Bendigo and averaged a career best 11.3 points and added 4.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.King was part of the WNBL Championship winning Adelaide Lightning team in the 2007/08 season when she averaged 3.1 points and 1.6 rebounds. King scored 181 points at an 8.6 per game average in 2006/07. She also clocked 27 minutes per game as well as 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists and made two finals appearances. She averaged 7.7 points per game in her 53 games with Townsville, highlighted by averaging 8.8 points and 6.1 rebounds in the 2004/05 season after playing just nine games the year before due to a knee injury. She really loves the beach and values her family and friends much more than any possessions. Her most memorable sporting moment is winning a WNBL championship with Adelaide.

COACH’S COMMENT: We are really looking for a break out year from Lauren in her second season with the Flames. She is a great calming influence on the group and has an ability to take over a game offensively with her inside/outside game. She will also provide defensive cover on the oppositions best players.

Mia won the WNBL Player of the Week Award for Round 2 for her outstanding performance against the West Coast Waves; In the 2009/10 season she played in 22 games, she averaged 7 points, 1.5 assists, and 3 rebounds per game. GENERAL BASKETBALL CAREER: 2011 Mia played for the Launceston Tornadoes in the SEABL… 2009 Member of the CABL All Star 5. Member of the Forestville Eagles women’s team that won the CABL championships in 2005 and 2009… Mia competed at the FIBA U19 World Championships in Slovakia 2007 (finished 5th)... She won the ‘top 3-pt award” at those championships and averaged 7.7pts and 2.2 rebounds per game. She was an SA State and Sports Institute representative 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007… Captain twice. She played for Forestville Eagles in the Bank SA league and represented SA Metro at the Australian Junior Championships; U16 in 2003, U18 in 2004-05 and U20 2006... Mia was selected for Australian Junior Camps in 2004 and 2006...

Mia has one brother Brad, who plays for the Australian Boomers. She is studying a Bachelor of Education (Junior Primary) at Flinders. Her favourite places in the world are Rome and London. Mia used to play the piano and a distant relative of hers is Bernard Fanning. She likes old music, is terrified of rats and her favourite food is Laksa noodles and cheese.

COACH’S COMMENTS: After an unfortunate injury at the start of last season, Mia finished 2011/2012 on a high proving why she is a star of the future. She is a young, tall, athletic guard that has the ability to guard the 2, 3 or 4. Mia is a crucial piece of the Townsville Fire puzzle, and will be looked upon to step up her game to another level this season.

Michelle also played in the U16, U18 and U20 NSW state teams.

COACH’S COMMENT: She has worked extremely hard in the off-season on her strength and conditioning. Michelle is an athletic player who will add a lot to our depth, and will be looked at as a key contributor coming off the bench to provide valuable minutes. Mikaela was a Grand Finalist with Sydney Uni in the 2007/08 season, averaging 8.2 points per game. Mikhaela made her WNBL debut in 2010/11, playing in 21 games with the AIS; she averaged 1 point, 2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. She dished out 5 assists on three occasions.

GENERAL BASKETBALL NOTES: Mikhaela was named as a reserve for the 2010 FIBA U17 World Championship team but represented Australia at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010. Mikhaela also attended the Australian Development Camp in June 2010 as part of a squad which has been formed for early identification of athletes available for the 2013 FIBA U19 World Championship team. Also in 2010 she won a silver medal at the 2010 Australian U18 Championships with VIC Metro.

PERSONAL INFORMATION:Mikhaela was born in Sunnybank, Queensland and completed her junior and senior schooling at John Paul College.She is the only person in her family who has played basketball. Her sporting hero is fellow team mate Kristen Veal and playing for the Thunder has been a long-time dream. Outside of basketball Mikhaela enjoys listening to music, running, the beach and spending time with her family and friends.

COACH’S COMMENTS: Coming off a couple of seasons learning the game under one of Australia’s best coaches at the AIS sees Mikhaela come home to join the Thunder in her first season playing out of Metro. She has matured into of the country’s next best point guards and playing back up to Kristen Veal will see her continue to learn and mature under one of Australia’s premier point guards. Mik has exceptionally good ability in the one spot and we will be looking to her to come off the bench with a real spark. She has the ability to get to the rim and can shoot the ball well from the perimeter.

WNBL CAREER NOTES: Molly has joined the Adelaide Lightning for the 2012/13 WNBL season after returning to the league in 2011/12 after a year off, for her first year at the Capitals, where she averaged 4.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. In the 2009/10 season, Molly played five games for the Flames averaging 0.8 points and 0.4 assists. Molly averaged 3 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in 2008/09 and posted career best 28 assists and 12 steals for the season. She was elevated into the starting line-up for a number of games in the second half of the season. Molly averaged 1.4 points and 1.4 rebounds per game for Sydney in 16 games in 2007/08, she joined the Flames midway through the season after graduating from the AIS. She played 38 games for the AIS between 2005 and 2007, averaging 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

Molly was member of NSWIA Emerging Athletes Program in 2005 and was named as Central Coast Sports Star of the Year for 2006. She also has represented NSW Country at the Australian Junior Country Basketball Cup 2002-05 and has represented Terrigal HS as part of their National Schools Championship winning team in 2004. Molly was member of NSW PSSA Team in 2001 and represented NSW Country U16 2003/04 (Silver Medallists in 2004) and U18 2005 (Gold Medallists) at National Junior Championships.

She averaged 6.4 points and led her team with 2.6 assists per regular season game. Nicole had a standout 14 point performance in the Major Semi Final against Bulleen. In her 2009/10 season with Dandenong she played in 17 games and averaged 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists...In the 2008/09 season Nicole played 20 games for Dandenong to average 7.5 points, 2.8 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game... In the 2009/10 season, Rachel scored 13 points in 4 appearances for the Flames, averaging 1.9 points and 1.4 rebounds. In 2008/09 Rachel posted 20 points and 17 rebounds across 19 games. In her first season with the Flames in 2006/07, Rachel 1.6 and 1.1 rebounds per game. Her field goal percentage was very consistent at 62%. Before being picked up by Sydney, she played for the AIS in 2005/05 averaging 1.9 points per game and 2.3 rebounds.

 It was another highly productive season for Rachel, capped off by being named in the WNBL All Star Five. She averaged career-high 15.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists per game. Rachel was a key member of Bulleen’s WNBL Championship team in season 2010/11, playing in both finals; she also played in 20 regular season games averaging 14.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game;After graduating the AIS in 2009, Rachel joined Bulleen in the 2009/10 season. Rachel averaged 10.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in the regular season, career highs in all three categories, her 2.6 offensive boards per game was the eighth best in the league. In her debut finals experience in the WNBL, Rachel averaged 7.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in two games. In her debut WNBL season in 2008/09 Rachel played 21 games for the AIS, averaging 10.5 points and 5.2 rebounds in 23 minutes per game.

WNBL CAREER NOTES: Renae has made the move to Bendigo for the 2012/13 season after two seasons with the Logan Thunder. She was one of the standouts Renae joined the Logan Thunder in season 2010/11, playing 23 games including two finals. She averaged 13 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in the regular season;In her 2009/10 season with Adelaide, Renae averaged 14.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. Renae was MVP of the 2007/08 Grand Final with the highest points scored in a Grand Final, winning the championship with Adelaide. In the 2007/08 season she posted averages of 17.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Renae scored 386 points in 21 games for Townsville in 2006/07, averaging 16.3 points per game to go with 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game after missing the entire 2005/06 season with a knee injury. She burst onto the WNBL scene with the AIS in 2004/05, winning Betty Watson Rookie of the Year honours after amassing 362 points, 199 rebounds and 33 assists - averages of 17.2 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists a game.

In 2007 Renae played at the 2007 FIBA Young Women’s World Championship in Russia before representing the Opals at the FIBA Oceania Qualifications. She was named in the World All star 5 team at the World Championships. She was named in the Opals squad in 2005 and made her Opals debut in 2006 on a tour to China. Renae was a member of the Gems squad in 2003 and 2004 and made her international debut in 2004 on a tour to Europe before playing in the Oceania Junior World Qualifiers and went on to play at the 2005 FIBA U19 World Championship. Renae represented NSW Country at the Australian National Junior Championships in U16's in 2001, U18’s in 2002-03, U20's in 2004 and attended the All Australian Camp in 2003 and 2004. She graduated ITC in 2003 and was named AIS Junior Athlete of the Year.

She averaged 10.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game; Steph recorded a career-high 26 points against the Bulleen Boomers on 19 February 2011. In the 2009/10 season she played in 22 games, she averaged 11.1 points, 1.7 assists, and 3 rebounds per game; she won the Ranger’s Most Valuable Player award... In the 2008/09 season Stephanie played 20 games for the AIS averaging 8.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2 assists per game... She averaged 5.5 points per game in 2007/2008... Stephanie averaged 5.9 points and 1.4 assists at the world titles. In 2008 she was a member of the Australian Gems (U19) team that won the FIBA Oceania qualification tournament. In 2006 Stephanie represented Australia at the FIBA Oceania Youth Tournament, winning Gold… Australia at the 2006 Oceania Youth Tournament in New Zealand... Represented Victoria U14 in 2002 and 2003, U16 in 2004 and 2005 and U18 in 2006 at the National Junior Championships.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: Steph has one older brother Jamie. She loves drinking Nippy’s iced chocolate and singing Glee songs with former team-mate Amelia. Steph is known locally for her trophy blasting and styling skills.

COACH’S COMMENTS: Steph has improved every season she has played in the WNBL. She is revered at Dandenong and a wonderful example of the pathways offered at the Rangers for a junior female basketballer who can play their whole career at one club. Steph’s game is evolving and I have no doubt she will cement herself as one of the WNBL’s finest players in the coming years.

Suzy averaged a league-high 23.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and more than 2 steals per game; 2010 Suzy joined reigning champions the Canberra Capitals for the 2010/11 season and despite battling injury throughout the year played in 12 regular season games and averaged 14.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game; She also played in two finals with the Capitals. Suzy returned to the WNBL in the 2009/10 season and, despite missing the end of the season with a knee injury, was named in the All-Star Five and earned Sydney Uni MVP honours. In 2009/10 Suzy played in 20 games and was the league’s leading scorer with an average of 24.6 points per game. She was also amongst the league’s top ten players in defensive rebounds (2nd – 7.0), steals (2nd – 1.9), blocked shots (2nd – 1.7), total rebounds (5th – 8.8), field goal percentage (9th – 48.6%), foul shot percentage (10th – 73.6%)...In 2001/02, Suzy averaged 20 points and 12.2 rebounds per game... She won the 2000/2001 Championship with Sydney.

Tess played in all 24 games for the Spirit including two finals; She led the team in scoring averaging 15.7 points per regular season game and 5.7 rebounds per game; Tess was awarded WNBL Player of the Week awards in both Round 3 and Round 5 for her outstanding performances; In the 2009/10 season, she averaged 11.7 points per game, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists for the AIS. 2008/09 season with the AIS was her debut in the WNBL averaging 6.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
