Karen Dalton

Karen was appointed Head Coach of Sydney during the 2000/01 WNBL season. She led the team to the Championship in her rookie year and in 2001/02 was voted WNBL Coach of the Year.

As a player Dalton represented Australia in 252 games throughout her career, played in two Olympic Games (1984 and 1988) and four World Championships (1983, 1986, 1990 and 1994), and played in 375 WNBL games, earning Life Membership of the league.

In 2007, Dalton was inducted into the Basketball Australia Hall of Fame.

Dalton enters her eleventh season as head coach of the Flames in 2010/11 with aspirations to reach the finals this year. In season 2009/10, she led the side to the preliminary finals after a second-placed, regular season finish. She holds one of the highest win/loss coaching records in the WNBL.

Dalton was an assistant coach with the Australian Opals at the 2002 World Championships and 2004 Athens Olympics and also assisted the Australian Under 21 women's teams at the World Championships.
