Ladder after Round 7

Sunday, 23rd August, 2009

Following Dandenong's 2 losses to the WheelKings this weekend, the top 4 positions are almost certainly locked in as we head into the last round. Here's how it has played out.

Perth have completed their regular season and are worthy minor premiers regardless of Wollongong's results next weekend. Those 2 teams are 1-1 in their games this season but Perth own the split by virtue of their 24 point win in Round 2 compared to Wollongong's 11 point win in Round 5.

The WheelKings are locked into 3rd unless they beat Wollongong by more than 5 and Wollongong suffer an unlikely loss to the winless Adelaide.

The Razorbacks own the split against Dandenong and will take 4th place without question if they beat Adelaide twice in the last round - an almost certainty.

For Dandenong to sneak into 4th, they have to beat the competitive Brisbane twice and hope that the Razorbacks lose a game to Adelaide.

Stranger things have happened but it seems most likely that Perth will be taking on the 3 NSW teams in the 2009 NWBL Finals in 3 week's time.
