In today's quarter-final, Japan almost put the game into overtime when former WheelKings import Mari Amimoto launched a 3-point prayer from halfway which just rimmed out as time expired. Coach Hewson was  impressed that his team was able to stave off an intense comeback for the second game in a row. "The girls showed real strength in handling the pressure. Even when our shots were missing, we still played great defence," he said.
