Happy 50th Coach Hewson! Gliders win, win, win
WheelKings and Australian women's coach Gerry Hewson celebrated his 50th birthday today. But there won't be a big party for him on Australian soil just yet as he's with his Gliders in the USA at the 2008 Joseph F. Lyttle World Basketball Challenge.
And haven't the girls given him a nice birthday gift with wins over The Netherlands 54-30 and arch rivals Canada 54-51. The 2 wins come on top of beating Great Britain the day before 46-35. Australia finished top of their pool and now face Mexico in the quarter finals.
Our WheelKings girls have made solid contributions to each of the wins with Liesl Tesch and Kylie Gauci both appearing in the top scorers.
