WNBL CAREER NOTES: Rachael was awarded the Robyn Maher Defensive Player of Year for the second-straight year in season 2010/11. She played in all 22 games and averaged a career-best 14.3 points and 4.9 assists per game. She was also named the Fire’s team MVP for the season.In the 2009/10 season Rachael was awarded the WNBL’s Robyn Maher Defensive Player of the Year award. She also won Townsville’s club MVP, Players’ Player and Fans’ Player of the Year honours. Rachael averaged 13 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists in the regular season and was ranked 4th in the league in steals (1.7) 7th in foul shot percentage (78.6%) and 7th in assists (4.1 per game). In Townsville’s 2 finals games Rachael averaged 14.5 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists per game. Rachael averaged 5.7 points per game for Dandenong in 2007/08. Before moving to Dandenong, Rachael had a terrific 2006/07 season with Townsville, leading them in assists with 62 in 21 games. Back for the Fire in 2008-09 season she also lead the team with a total of 113 assists while scoring a career best 6.5 points per game, for a total of 157.

GENERAL BASKETBALL CAREER NOTES: 2011 Rachael was named in the Australian Opals team, playing in their three-game series against China in July; Rachael was named in her first Opals squad in 2010 and attended an Opals training camp in April. She was a member of the QBL Townsville Flames team that won the ACC National title in 2007 and 2008 and named in the All Star 5 team. Rachael represented South Australia at National Junior Championships 1997 to 2001 while captaining SA Metro in 2000.

COACH’S COMMENTS: Rachael is the heart and soul of this team. She leads by example both on and off the court. I know I can always count on her to set the tone defensively and lead our team on the break. Rachael has worked extremely hard in the off-season to get herself prepared for the 2012/2013 WNBL season, and we will be looking for her to have a greater impact this season.
