Oceania Paralympic Championships Fact Sheet
Shooting
Dates of Competition
Competition runs from Sunday May 10 - Wednesday May 13, however events may be extended through to Friday May 15 depending on entry numbers.
Venue
The Shooting competition will be held at the Mickett Creek Shooting Complex, which is located approximately 5 - 10 minutes from the Mararra sporting precinct.
Competition Program
The following events will be offered:
· Air Rifle Standing (SH1) Men and Women
· Air Rifle Prone (SH1) Mixed
· Air Rifle Standing (SH2) Mixed
· Air Rifle Prone (SH2) Mixed
· Air Pistol (SH1) Men and Women
· Sport Pistol .22 (SH1) Mixed
· Free Pistol (SH1) Mixed
Entry Standards
There are no entry standards for the ISCD Shooting Competition.
Classification
Classification will be held at Darwin Entertainment Centre on May 8 - May 9.
Athletes require National level classification to compete in the event.
Athletes that do not have a confirmed National level classification will be scheduled for classification. Athletes will be notified if they are required to attend classification and their appointment time following the closure of entries.
Entry
Entry to OPC events closes on April 10.
Online accreditation is a 2-step process and needs to be commenced immediately.

Minimum age for Oceania Paralympic Championships
Athletes must be 15 years of age by 31 December 2009.
Competition Format
The competition will be conducted under ISCD Shooting Rules and Regulations.
Awarding of Medals
All athletes with a disability will be eligible for Arafura Games medals. OPC medals will be awarded to athletes from OPC member nations to a maximum of two (2) athletes per country per event.
ISCD Records and Rankings points
Only athletes holding a current IPC License will be eligible to have their results considered for World and Regional rankings and records. International athletes should contact their National Paralympic Committee for further information.
Gun checks
Gun check will take place at 1pm May 8 at the competition venue, then daily between 7am - 10am.
Customs
An application for an International Visitors Permit MUST be completed and submitted prior to your arrival in Australia. Your entry will not be finalised until this documentation has been received.
To aid in the process and to decrease any delays in your departure the following forms also need to be submitted prior to arriving in Australia, Export Declaration, ICS Registration Form and Restricted Goods Permit (RGP).

Accommodation
Arafura Games has a central accommodation booking service. Details are available on the Arafura Games website.
Transfers and transportation
Airport transfers and venue transportation are provided free of charge to all accredited athletes and officials and is fully accessible.
Cost
Each participant in the shooting competition will be required to pay a one off fee of $80AUD.
Athletes are responsible for travel to Darwin, meals, accommodation, visa costs and other incidentals.
Visa Information
Information on Visa requirements is available at the Arafura Games website. The organising committee are unable to provide official letters of invitation or assistance to athletes who do not hold a relevant visa.
