Overwhelming support by sponsors

With over $2 million dollars in cash and kind, the generosity and support of the private sector has been overwhelming.
The sponsorship programme was designed with integration over two events, the first of its kind in the Cook Islands. There was a rollercoaster ride of trials and tribulations, stops and starts, pros and cons but the positive attitude of all of our 15 business sponsors and determination of the marketing director Tui Short helped overcome obstacles to ultimately realise this wonderful dream.
Sponsors have not only stepped up to support the games, but have also invested time and money into programmes linked with the event that are community oriented.  The “greening” of the games through the environmental champions programme, “safe games” through health and HIV awareness programmes and the delightful adopt-a-country programme – have been an overwhelming success.
It has been a learning curve for all involved, and certainly the legacy will be the continued support of sport and sporting codes in the Cook Islands. It just goes to show that if you put your mind to it, you can make anything happen.
Coupled with sponsorship comes media and communications.
Along with the “Face of the Games”, “Kuki the Kukupa”, “On tour with Tua” and “Tuatua with Tua” the hardworking media partners and PMG media team have the ground covered!

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
