Samoan warrior urges team on to win

Samoa vs Tonga was the first game in the League competition. The game was fast paced and assured spectators that they were assured of an exciting afternoon's entertainment.

During the first seven minutes, Samoa held off Tonga's several attempts at their line. A fortunate intercept then enabled Samoa to get a runaway try so that they were able to touch down and convert the first try of the League tournament.

Tonga touched down a try seconds later but the end of the first half score was 6-4 to Samoa.

During the second half, Samoa scored 3 more tries and Tonga scored 2. None of the tries were converted. Samoa ended up with the win with a score of 18-12.
