Play offs for medals in lots of codes today

A number of medals will be up for grabs today on day nine of the 2009 Pacific Mini Games.
This is after a whole day of competition yesterday without any new medals being presented.
The league sevens semi-finals will be played today at BCI Stadium starting at 1.30pm, with the medal playoffs scheduled for 4pm.
At the CIFA academy at Matavera, it is the final day of play for touch football, with Cook Islands in the hunt for another gold in the mixed competition.
Play in the mixed doubles gets underway today in table tennis at the Aroa Nui hall – the final playoffs are expected to start around 5 o’clock this evening.
Squash singles games continue at the Telecom Sports Arena, with weightlifting starting up at 10am at the same venue.
The medal presentations at weightlifting will follow after the completion of each category.
The Cook Islands women’s fours team is well placed for a medal as games continue today at the Rarotonga Bowling Club. The men’s team needs to win to be in contention for a bronze.
There are also games in all categories of the tennis competition at Nikao. Games get underway at 8am and 1pm today.
