The Jamaican team joined together with the Papua New Guineans in a huddle at the end of their match. They acknowledged the determination and sportsmanship which the PNG team demonstrated throughout the whole game. The skill and flair of the Jamaicans game highlighted the weaknesses of their opponents.
PNG was never going to feature in the goal circles where the Jamaicans towered over them and the Jamaicans made leaping into the air to intercept PNG lobs an art form.
But there were lessons learned that PNG can take into their game against USA on Saturday evening which should be a more even match.
