PNG Courtside

Supporting the Papua New Guinea team courtside were three PNG nationals – (left to right) Emily George who is the President of the PNG Netball Federation; Jill Pala Gemo, grandmother of the captain of the PNG team, Alurigo Opina; and our own Mathilda Miria-Tairea from Nikao. They watched the game with avid interest sensing that the tide could change for the PNG team who up until then had suffered losses against Jamaica, Malawi and Singapore. Saturday night's win against USA (51-35) definitely provided the PNG supporters with something to smile about.
