Well deserved win to Malawi

Malawi celebrated their win with their supporters.
Their skilful game against Northern Ireland demonstrated the skills which the Cook Islands will need to take note of for their playoff for 5th and 6th placing on Thursday afternoon.
The star of the Malawi team this tournament has been Mway Kumwenda (GS) who was vital to the Malawi game plan as the ball was regularly fired her way. She easily avoided the Irish defenders and made an art of leaping into the air with such graceful ease and popping the ball into the hoop.
The Irish team worked hard at their defensive play mid court and Lisa Bowman was cool under pressure scoring 42 of her teams points.
The eventual result however was a win to Malawi 68-46 which will take Malawi to a final for 5th and 6th positions against the Cook Islands.
Northern Ireland will play South Africa for 7th and 8th placings.
