This was a tough, physical game between Trinidad and Tobago and Fiji as both teams fought for 9th and 10th placing in the world youth netball championship.
In the first quarter Trinidad and Tobago lead Fiji 16-11, but in the second quarter Fiji came back hard and strong and gave Trinidad and Tobago a taste of the game in Fijian style.
From then onward Fiji remained ahead in the score tally, making every goal count in the game.
Fiji  GA Maria Josephine Lutua said that the team never gave up even though the body was tired.
“We wanted to give our last breath seeing this is our last game. We are doing this for God, our country, our people, our loved ones and to show the next generation in Fiji that they can do it in the next four years.
“We would like to thank firstly to our heavenly father for being in there for us along every step of the way.
“A big thank you goes to our coach, the team, our school Arorangi Primary and the Cook Islands Fiji community for the support in all our games.”
Fiji’s rank in the world youth netball championship four years ago was thirteen and now nine - a very big improvement from the Fiji under 21 netball team this year.
They can look forward to the next event in four years time.
