Logistics and planning for stadium

Marketing and communication director Tui Short and PMG logistics and support services team members including, Moana Ioane (control centre manager), Tearoa Tini (security manager), George Matutu (transport manager) and Taamoa Heather (acting hospitality manager), recently met with the competition managers of rugby league and rugby union.
The meeting was to find out the needs of these codes during their competitions which will both be held at the stadium in the second week of the games.
It was an opportunity for the codes to iron out any issues they have and for the infrastructure team to explain the logistics of servicing the gaming area, signage and positioning of marquees.
Rugby has 10 teams to accommodate while league has four. Their needs were similar, but there were issues that needed to be addressed for the safety and welfare of the athletes who will use the field and the technical advisors’ location outside the playing field.
The information garnered at this meeting included seating arrangements for VIPs for the opening and closing ceremonies, entry and exit into the stadium grounds and entry and exit onto the playing field.
With rugby games going well into the night, there was a concern over the stadium lighting, however, the meeting was assured by CIIC property manager Annie Taoro that the lights have been serviced and all light bulbs replaced.
