Arorangi School gets ready for Fiji team

Arorangi School students have been busy cleaning and setting up their classes in preparation of the 167 team members from Fiji who will be accommodated at the school for the Pacific Mini Games 2009. Some of the classrooms have had vinyl laid, the curtains have been put in place and the beds have been distributed, ready for assembling.
The school has been allocated 84 bunk beds and all hands were on deck to put together the pieces. Early in the morning the CITC and volunteers delivered the bunk beds despite the cold, rainy weather. Thomas Dean set up the first bunk for his team to see the finished product. The senior students and volunteers including principal Griff Robati then helped with the rest of the assembling of the beds.
The lady teachers were doing their part by water blasting the kitchen, pathways and other areas.
The outside showers have been set up and extra water tanks are also in place, filled and ready to use.
All that is required is for the beds to be made and for Fiji to arrive.
Another initiative that the school contributed towards is their peace garden which the teachers and parents jointly established to welcome guests at the main entrance. The aim of the peace garden was to stimulate the senses which give you peace of mind, peace of soul, peace of physical well being.
The students, teachers and parents of Arorangi school would like to create a harmonious peaceful atmosphere so that when the athletes arrive, they will feel it and enjoy it and live it.
