Pacific Games Council

Andrew Minogue is the executive director of the Pacific Games Council, currently based in New Caledonia.
Andrew arrived on our shores on 6th September 2009 and has been constantly working with Mac Mokoroa, the CEO of the games, and all the other directors. Andrew is responsible for ensuring that the constitutions and all rules are adhered to, and to oversee the events - the games are owned by Pacific Games Council.
He has been spending time with CISNOC, the host of the Pacific Games Association with particular responsibilities with the games. Andrew is also working on setting up of the main operation centre at Tereora and is constantly liaising with the sporting codes and the transport team.
The best thing about the games, Andrew says, is seeing the 22 countries coming together; this is one of the events where the biggest representations of the Pacific islands come as one, bringing the Pacific family together, sharing the moments.
In the year 2013, Wallis & Futuna will be hosting the next “Pacific Mini Games”. Cook Islands will hand over the flag at the closing ceremony of the 2009 games to Wallis & Futuna.
In 2011, there is a big “Pacific Games” where 28 sports will be played and this will be held in New Caledonia.
The executive directors for the Pacific Games Council will be arriving early next week and we look forward to receiving them.
