Congratulations to Cory Brady who has played 200 games for South Yarra Football Netball Club Inc.
Cory first arrived at the Yarras when he was only 15 years old in 2002. He was the captain of the Senior team in 2012 where he had the pleasure of being coached by his uncle, Bernard Brady, with whom he has a close relationship. In 2012 he was a standout player for the Yarras and he won the Best & Fairest, which is his greatest individual achievement in football. However, his greatest memory is winning a Reserves Grade Premiership in 2009 when the Yarras were down by 25 points with four minutes remaining in the match to eventually win by a point against Doveton Eagles. Ironically it is the same club Cory played his 200th against. We are certain his achievements are attributed to the fact his calves are the size of tree trunks which gives him tremendous speed similar to a cheetah, and allows him to break open from packs and score goals. This is a sight to behold! Off the field, his favourite functions are Silly Sundays which are always a messy day with his mates. But we all know why we play footy, and that is for the footy trips. Cory’s greatest trip was the 7 days in Bali that almost killed him. The highlight of that particular trip was when a player celebrated on the dance floor podium by shaking and spraying his beer all over a crew of a well-known bikie gang. You don't want to know the outcome of that particular stunt. Whether on or off the field, Cory has been a great attribute to the Yarras over the past fourteen years and his business, Brady Tiling is now the major sponsor of the Yarras. Cory's dedication to our great club must be acknowledged and celebrated, and we look forward to celebrating his next milestone with the Yarras.
