Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers travelled to Rainbow in the battle between third and fourth. With both teams missing key players, a good contest was expected.
In fine conditions Jeparit/Rainbow began strongly to kick the first three goals of the game. Already the Lakers fierce tackling and hard running were causing Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers problems. Youngster Sam Cocks coming up from the reserves kicked two goals to set up a handy quarter time lead for the Lakers.
Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers kicked the opening goal of the second quarter to give their supporters some hope. Then Jeparit/Rainbow continued to dominate. The Clugston brothers, Ashley and Heath were winning many possessions around the ground, while younger brother Simon was playing a strong game in the backline. Col Durie was trying hard for Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers, but Lakers tagger Lucas Edelsten was limiting his influence. Tiger Corey Stadon was trying hard in his duel with key Lakers forward Peter Weir.
With a five goal lead to Jeparit/Rainbow at half time, supporters of both teams were waiting to see if Tigers could fight their way back into the game. However the Lakers continued to play the better football. Jayden and Luke Werner were continually running the ball out of defence despite the efforts of Tigers Joe Summerhayes and Taylor Hanning. In the ruck Matt McLeod was trying hard to curb the influence of the Lakers duo Justin Chilver and Tim Price.
In the second half key forwards Peter Weir and Nathan Wight provided a focal point for their teams as the games intensity eased off with Jeparit/Rainbow having an impressive 10 goal win. The Lakers played a great brand of team football while the Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers seemed to leave too much to a handful of players.

The Demons steadied and got their running game together and with Rob Miller, Glenn Joyce and Peter Caldow picking up kicks around the ground Ouyen United managed to open up an 18 point lead going into the final term.
The Demons turned it on in the final term with coach Ryan O’Callaghan proving hard to stop around the ground and with Jarrod Munro and Kerien O’Shannessy standing tall in defence. Hopetoun were unable to match the strength of Ouyen United and the visitors had a comfortable win.
