“Yesterday’s game against Fiji in the world qualifier, the girls gave it their all and Fiji could only manage 5 compared to the 12 nil they gave us in the first game,” said PNG coach Manoi Poklap.
“Today we just wanted a reasonable scoreline against the Maoris.”
Maori coach Ripia Kahu was satisfied with the outcome saying a lot of positives came out of this tournament for them.
The Kiwis stamped their dominance from the first minute when Chayce Skudder scored from a penalty stroke in the first of her hat-trick.
It was poor finishing from the Maoris that restricted the scores to five in each half.
The scores for the Maoris- Skudder (1, 3, 39), Penny Stark (31, 54), Hawaiki Tamati (13), Sioux Morgan (26), Hannah Saul (44, 49) and Carla Burt (46).
