NAB AFL Auskick participant Kel McQuilty from the Taranganba State School has won the opportunity of a lifetime to play on the MCG at halftime of the 2007 Toyota AFL Grand Final, thanks to the AFL and National Australia Bank.
Kel will be accompanied by a guardian and will travel to Melbourne to participate in Grand Final activities from Thursday of Grand Final week.
NAB AFL Auskick Ambassador Robert `Dipper' DiPierdomenico said being in Melbourne for the biggest week in Australia's sporting calendar was an experience never to forget.
"If you love your football, then there is no other place to be in September than Melbourne. These 94 kids get to experience something that most supporters could only dream about when they take to the MCG at half-time during the 2007 Toyota AFL Grand Final."
Winners will also join Dipper in the 2007 AFL Toyota Grand Final Parade as well as visiting AFL World and participating in the Grand Final pre-match entertainment. A further 22 children involved will win the opportunity to present a Premiership Medal to one of the players from the winning team.
How did they get so lucky? Simply by registering in the 2007 NAB AFL Auskick program.
Every NAB AFL Auskick participant across Australia, aged between five and 12, was entered into the competition, which was drawn on Monday August 13 at AFL House in Melbourne. One winner from each of the 94 development regions across Australia was selected making this one of the biggest kids' competitions of its kind. This competition demonstrates that NAB AFL Auskick is truly a national program that benefits all participants regardless of their location.
