Important Info about NEW COURT MARKINGS!!!

As you are aware, there are new court markings required for basketball, BBNZ has set a timeline for when these must be in place. Some schools and venues already have these marked out.  Others will need to put this in their maintenance plan for their courts to meet the requirements by the start of the 2013 season.

However, for the 2011, 2012 seasons the Auckland Secondary Schools Premier basketball competition all venues must at least have marked the new three point arc using tape.

 Basketball New Zealand:

·         Any venue hosting games at national tournament level or above (including NBL, CBL, WBC, FIBA Oceania or international games) must have the new court markings permanently marked by the start of the 2011 season (defined as the first national tournament or league fixture)

·         Venues staging zone premierships and below must have the new court markings permanently marked by the start of the 2013 season (defined as the first national tournament or league fixture) but must mark the new three-point arc using tape for such tournaments in 2011 and 2012

Please find attached a copy of the new court markings.
