Leader Player of the Week 2009
Week 1 Finals (Sun) - Sam Hobley - Mordialloc
For the second successive time against Cheltenham, Sam Hobley was in the thick of it for the Bloods in their nailbiting E/F win on Sunday. Just as he did in round 16 (and much of 2009), Sam provided much run through the middle part of the ground, this time at Newcomen Road oval. Just when it seemed the Rosellas were making inroads in the final term, coming home with a wet sail and Mordialloc looking spent, up bobbed Sam Hobley to run the ball, send it forward, resulting in a stoppage, followed by the sealer to keep the Bloods alive in 2009.
Congratulations Sam!!
Week 1 Finals (Sat) - Steve O'Connell - Sth Yarra
Stephen O'Connell might well have been the smallest player, physically, in Saturdays Q/F win over Oakleigh District, but his contribution was head and shoulders above the rest. On a blustery day, not designed for the BIG forwards, Stephen made sure he was all over eveything at ground level, chiming in with 3 important goals for the Yarras. Good things clearly come in small packages.
Congratulations Stephen!!
Round 18 - Scott Regnier - Heatherton
Round 18's Player of The Week is Heatherton FC's Scott Regnier. Scott ignited the momentum back into Heathertons game during the second half with great presence and a target up forward by kicking 3 goals. Scott displayed strength of mind and body to steer Heatherton back into the contest and eventually take out the four points.
Congratulations Scott!

Round 17 - Mark Tasiyan - St Kilda City
Mark Tasiyan is without doubt "the quiet achiever" of the Saints line-up. In Round 17 Mark played off the back-line, with class and grace he provided much of the run for the Saints, breaking the Demons lines on numerous occasions. Mark contributed 1 goal to the total, although "Taz" feels he has played better games, there would be few matches where his contribution has been so valuable.
Congratulations Mark!

Round 16 - Sam Hobley - Mordialloc
Round 16 saw young Sam Hobley fight well above his weight division against a desperate Rosellas outfit, but Sam took out the honours on the final bell. At times, looking like a rag doll, Sam put his body on the line when it counted and his team mates were the benefeciaries of his gut busting hard work. Mordialloc are heading for the finals for the first time in 10 years - with young players like Sam - its no wonder!!! Congratulations Sam!

Jesse has been a powerhouse this season for the Beena and put in a best on ground performance against Black Rock last week. His height and strength in marking contests, his pace at ground level, and his calmness of mind makes Jesse the complete package fro the Beena. Congratulations Jesse!

Round 14 - Grant Pitts - Oakleigh District
Married life has certainly agreed with Grant Pitts and has gone from strength to strength since his return to the Districts line-up. Last Saturday against Highett Pitts controlled the centre stoppages and won plenty of contested possession. He was solid in defence with his towering mark and run out of the backline. With Pitts & Co. on song, finals are definitely on the agenda at Princes Highway Reserve.
Congratulations Grant!
