North Sunshine Treasurer Daniel Matcham took time out of his busy schedule to talk to the WRFL media team about how the Roadrunners are tracking ahead of the 2014 season.
Number of teams this year:
North will be fielding both seniors and reserves for season 2014
Pre-season News:
Pre-Season has been strong this season lots of new faces each week showing and 30 or more players each night on the track. All players are training well and linking as a team ready for Round 1.
Expectations for 2014:
The club wants to be competitive on the field this year in order to keep out of Division 3 relegation, which the players have worked hard during the pre-season to ensure this doesn’t happen.
Any significant signings at your club for 2014?
Few big signing for season 2014 Mohammed Maqbool will be one to watch also the Alagona and Larizza brothers.
Staff/coaching changes:
Joe Larizza will be taking over from Rick Charles this year improving the club’s positive attitude
in being more successful on the field as Senior Coach.
Whilst Jeremy Hibbert takes the helm from Daniel Matcham as the Reserves Coach bringing a
positive approach to the team.
Are there any new young players to look out for this season?
North has attracted a lot of younger guys form other leagues for this season bringing the
average age to about 23.
