The SEN Most Valuable Player Award is back again for season 2014, recognizing the Western Region Football League’s best overall senior player in the Division One competition.
SEN 1116, became a major partner of the WRFL in 2011, providing advertising time on their radio station to allow the league to service existing sponsors and to attract new partners.
In return the league provides SEN with the naming rights to the league's runners tops, and the SEN ‘Most Valuable Player’ Award which is awarded to the Division One player who is not necessarily the ‘best player’ but one who embodies leadership, versatility, ability to play under pressure, skill and courage, respect for all umpires and overall value to their team.
Voted on by the opposition coach each week throughout the home and away season using the 3,2,1 system, it is an award that recognizes those footballers who the players, coaches and league hold in high regard.
Previous winners of the award include: Spotswood’s Chris O’Keefe (2013), Albion’s Jason Buttina (2012) and joint winners Glen Orden’s Phillip Jones (2011) and Sunshine Heights’ Nicholas Mallia (2011).
Due to a technical error last weekend, the SEN 1116 MVP votes printed in Issue #8 of the WRFL Footy Record were incorrect, and now stand as below:
