As we continue our countdown to the opening bounce of the Division 2 & 3 Grand Finals, we hear from the four Reserve coaches ahead of the big match this weekend.
DIVISION TWO:
FINAL WORDS FROM THE COACH- WYNDHAMVALE
I’ve been at the Wyndhamvale Football Club for ten years now and have been the Reserves coach for six seasons. Overall it’s been a great season of football, in which all clubs have been very competitive. While our seniors were unable to qualify for the Grand Final, the club as a whole is extremely excited to have the opportunity to be part of Grand Final day and to soak up the atmosphere and experience it brings. Our preparation has been business as usual and we will treat it just like any other game. There will be no stand out players for us today, as we are team focused and I expect all the boys to contribute equally to ensure we get the job done. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone associated with our footy club, from the volunteers who help out each weekend, to our coaching group, support staff, president, administrators and most importantly the players. Without your efforts, there simply wouldn’t be a team running out on the field today.

FINAL WORDS FROM THE COACH- PARKSIDE
This season has not only been my first year at the Parkside Football Club, but also my first year as a standalone coach. In saying this, I have had great help and support around me which is part of the reason why we have got as far as we have this season. With the young list we have, I was just happy to develop a lot of the kids and to be playing off in a match like this is sensational for all involved. The club copped a lot of crucial injuries as a whole mid-way through the year but having such a strong list overall got us through. Having both sides into Grand Finals is great, the buzz around the club in unbelievable, you work so hard all year so we are determined not to let this one slip. Our preparation has been really pleasing and the fact that we have both sides in is a massive bonus for us being such a close group. Being such a young list with an average age of 21, the fast play and ball movement from our boys is exciting to watch and something which will put us in good stead this weekend. I would like to thank everyone at the Parkside Football Club who has helped and supported us in any way this season to get us where we are today, it’s a great club with so much history and this is why the place is so successful.

DIVISION THREE:
FINAL WORDS FROM THE COACH- SANCTUARY LAKES
Now in our second year since our establishment in 2012, this season was once again a successful one for our progression as the club. While being a young club can have its difficulties attracting players making it testing at times, we have had a few fresh faces around who have gelled in nicely to the unit. This year our expectation was to stay in Division Two which we unfortunately fell short in, however we have good quality young players which will only get better with time and more game experience. The club is very excited to have a side playing of in a reserve Grand final. Only two years old as a club and it shows we are on the right path in developing our young troops. Most importantly it is very appropriate to thank our Major Sponsors – OSA Australia, CTS Travel, The Brook Hotel and also thank all other sponsors that help our club to become a successful club in the future. Thank you to our supporters who are increasing every week, our coaches, trainers and all game day staff. Special mention to Rod Davis, Simon Gibbons, Todd Van Blommestein, Nick Waddell (Senior coach),Peter MaCartney, Steve Hutcheson, Wayne Notman, Michael Mathews, Peter Casey, Madeline Minett, Adrian Rodrigues, Derek Gatt, Daniel Gatt, Sam La Chimia and Tom Harrison for their support as well. Most importantly thank you to our players for creating a club that we plan to be successful in, in the near future.

FINAL WORDS FROM THE COACH- BRAYBROOK
I jumped on board with the club four years ago as an assist coach and am currently coaching the Reserves this season. We had a tough start to the season, however once the new Division Three tier came in we found it more of an even competition that brought back competitive football which saw us enjoying the game again. Unfortunately due to injuries across our team, it put some pressure on us week in week out, but overall we’ve prevailed. The Brookers as a whole is nervous but excited about playing finals and the vibe around the club is awesome having been 10 years in the making. Our preparation has been the same, nothing has changed as we are treating it as another game and aren’t getting ahead of ourselves. It’s been a tough but great year at the Brookers and I take my hat off to all the countless volunteers around the club who devote so much time to getting our team on the field each week, we are truly thankful. Thanks also goes to our players for their dedication in season 2014, and last but not least our loyal supporters-where would be without you all!
