Despite missing out on finals action, Manor Lakes produced a number of good wins throughout 2014 to avoid Division Three relegation.
While club administrator Kellie Wood says the Storm’s pre-season has been full of ups and downs, increased junior numbers and a fresh committee has given Manor Lakes the motivation to return to the top of the table.
Teams fielding in 2015:
This year the club is looking to field 9 teams.
How has the pre-season been?
This will be our first year the club has two teams in the one age group, with enough numbers for two Under 9 sides which is great for the future of our club. It’s also pleasing to see our Youth Girls team coming along nicely. Our pre-season for our seniors has been good, with a few new faces coming into the senior side, all with great potential. Off field, we have a new committee on board working hard towards the one goal, with new president Troy Whiting leading the way.
Who are some of the noteworthy signings for 2015?
This year we’ve picked up a couple of key position players including centre half-forward Jackson Lesko (Darely FC), mid-fielder Corey Lawson (Melton South FNC) and forward Mason Mitiou (St.Albans FC).
What are your expectations for the new season?
Season 2014 had a lot of ups and down, we have a new committee on board who is working hard to make the club stronger off field for the upcoming football season. Our on-field expectations is for growth in all team numbers from our juniors right through to our seniors.
Any staff/coaching changes?
This season we would like to welcome Rob May to our senior coaching panel as an assistant coach to Heath Hunter.
Who are some of the young up and coming players to look out for this year?
We have a lot of talent at the club, however a few juniors to look out for this season would be Matthew Schofield from our Under 14s and Matthew Stephenson Under 11s.
2015 Captain:
Our senior captain is yet to be confirmed.
