How has the pre-season been?
Our pre-season has been excellent, with consistent numbers on the track. A partnership with Reece's Gym in Ascot Vale over the pre-season has seen a huge increase in our players’ fitness and strength levels which is really pleasing. The appointment of our second female coach in the club’s 54 year history Tanya Bramwell as our Under 12s coach has also sent a buzz around the club, so we’re looking forward to the opening bounce.
Who are some of the noteworthy signings for 2015?
This season we are excited to gain the services of Zaccy Mastrocola from the GFL and Shannon Dean from the RDFL. We are also pleased to see the return of past players Reece Hegarty and Cameron Holdsworth.
What are your expectations for the new season?
Our expectations of the playing group this season is to be competitive and make the top 5.
Who are some of the young up and coming players to look out for this year?
There are a number of our past under 18 and current under 18 players to look out for who will all be fitter and stronger in 2015. Some of the players to keep an eye on include: Dylan Sloman, Jesse Thompson, Caleb McPherson, Adam Korsak, Cameron Holdsworth and fast-man Nathan Doherty.
Any coaching changes for 2015?
Aaron Tymms and Aldo Pagano remain coaches of our seniors/reserves with the inclusion this year of Zaccy Mastrocola as playing midfield coach and Stephen Pierce returns to the club as forward coach. Youssef Morelli has been appointed to the support team as a soft tissue therapist.
