AFTER consecutive losses to Newport and Werribee Districts, Albion have emphatically dismantled Wyndhamvale notching up a comprehensive win at JR Parsons Reserve.
The final score was 26.10. (166) to 2.1. (13), in what was a complete team performance filled with precise ball use and quality clearances.
Albion were switched on from the opening bounce as they swamped Wyndhamvale's backline to cause countless turnovers and prevented them from exiting their defence at will.
Albion's Ahmed Mesto dominated the term creating carnage in the midfield as he sliced through the corridor to set up a few goals. At the first break Albion lead by 31-points.
Albion started the second quarter just like the first but Wyndhamvale were able to stem the onslaught during the latter stages of the term as they started to maintain possession, but were still down by 55-points at the main break.
In the third quarter Wyndhamvale kicked their first goal at the second minute mark with a strong set shot from Daniel Tarascio, Jayme Gilmore also got involved with a lovely dash through the corridor and slotted a major from 50 metres after consecutive tackles from Dylan Reynolds.
Albion responded with the next centre clearance and a chain of handpasses with James Leach finishing off the play with a fine goal to have six to three quarter time.
The intensity of the game dropped off in the last quarter as Albion won majority of the clearances to slam through 11 goals with four coming from James Leach and two for Joel Bettin.
Ahmed Mesto, three goals and James Leach, who kicked 10 goals were Albion's best along with Brandon Reid and Connor McPherson.
For Wyndhamvale, Liam Jones batted manfully in the ruck, Jayme Gilmore although down on his high standards tried hard and Brenton Cox was admirable in an under siege backline.
The other match of round 6 had Werribee Districts recording three wins in a row with an 84-point win over Sanctuary Lakes at Featherbrook Reserve, 13.18. 96 to 1.6. 12.
Werribee's Ryan Larsen was best on ground with four goals, Daniel Dhal and Scott Woods were also prominent, Ben McMahon also kicked three goals.
For Sanctuary Lakes Adam Elbob was the only goal scorer, Luke Coleiro once again was solid and Erikk Watts battled all game.
In the next round Albion will host Sanctuary Lakes at JR Parsons Reserve which leaves a mouth-watering clash between Werribee Districts and Newport Power at Bryan Martyn Oval.
Wyndhamvale have the bye.
