SPORTING SPIRIT IS ALIVE AND WELL

The sporting spirit is alive and well in the PNG Games Basketball Competition. Respect for all officials from score bench officials, referees and tournament officials has been high, but most importantly the display of sportsmanship between the competing teams has been clear throughout every game at the Murray Barracks Courts. Teams shake hands and form a circle to thank each other for the match and are well applauded by the ever growing crowd.

The competition has been improving each day with added features for those involved and a strong homely feeling has emerged at the Murray Barracks courts. Many of the spectators are new to basketball which allows them to see some of the very best in the country and gain some understanding of the sport. As one of the most popular sports at the games, Basketball will be capping off their pool matches with 3 days of Finals to determine the winner of the PNG Games.

Who will it be?
