The BDJFA considers the role and performance of club umpires as important contributors to the presentation and conduct of the game and to the development of junior footballers. The performance of club umpires contributes to the enjoyment of players on the day, and often, more broadly the retention of people in Australian Football.
This AFL Club Umpire Program is designed to enable people across the football community to gain knowledge and skills in umpiring and to have their competence in the role on match day confirmed.
Everyone who has been asked by a club or team to umpire a match as a boundary or goal should complete this course. Anyone interested in being a Field Umpire for the BDJFA as part of the Umpire development programme might also complete the course, otherwise please get in touch with the BDJFA by email to secretary@bdjfa.org.au.
There is no charge for the course. It takes approximately 30min to complete and may be done in several sessions.
