The new Bundaberg Bulls recruit arrived in town on Thursday and is eager to make a break from the chute and sink his horns into the coming Queensland Basketball League (QBL) season.

At the top of the agenda for the former Northside Wizard will be helping to lead the Bulls to a spot in the QBL play-offs, a feat they have not achieved in the past four seasons.

“The guys were only a single game away from making it last year and I don’t want to see that happen again,” he said.

Davis, 30, is known for his skill outside the semi-circle, having established himself as the QBL’s leading three-point shooter, with an unrivalled percentage of 44.74.

The former international has plied his trade in China, Korea and Brunei and has earned a reputation for pin-point accuracy.

The shooting guard will boost the Bulls’ attack arsenal and help provide some more scoring options, easing the pressure off returning American college basketball import Matt Hanson.

“I’ll be looking to complement Matt and open up the floor a bit,” Davis said.

“They’re hard-working and I’ll be doing my bit to make sure we get to where we need to be.”

Davis will be the longest-serving Queensland Basketball League campaigner on the team and hopes to provide some leadership and direction for younger players on the team.

“I’ve been around for a while and I’ve learnt a few things I hope I can pass on,” he said.

Davis has entered a formidable line-up, which includes returning American imports Hanson and Will Shackleford, as well as in-form shooting guard Todd Meyerding.

Bundaberg Bulls coach Adam Curran said all signs were pointing to a successful season for his team.

“The morale of the team is pretty high at the moment,” he said.

“We look great on paper.

"At the end of the day it will be making sure we can translate that on to the court.”
