Townsville Fire - Seeking WNBL Head Coach

Townsville Fire is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people for the position of Head Coach to their Women’s National Basketball League Program.

The position is part time (approx. 7 months) and is focused on the development and success of the Townsville Fire WNBL team and its players.

All applicants must demonstrate the following:

- Coaching Qualifications – accredited N.C.A.S. Level 2 Basketball Coach (or equivalent) and must have a background of coaching basketball in Australia or oversees with a recognized ability of planning and delivery of the sports’ elite level.
- Lead the Coaching and Development of the WNBL Townsville Fire team
- Plan, implement and oversee the WNBL program pre-season and in-season programs with individual and team programs / strength & conditioning programs / scouting / player development.
- To contribute and in collaboration with overall development of women’s basketball in the Townsville Basketball Association.
- Good Communication and interpersonal Skills – to attend promotional activities as required, including being the media contact person for the team / program
- Strong Leadership, ability to motivate and head up the coaching panel and define accountabilities
- Player recruitment and selection in consultation with the WNBL Townsville Fire Management Committee
