New Meteorette Set to Burn Opposition

The Global Product Search Meteorettes are pleased to announce that point guard Heidi Freeburn will join the team for the 2011 QBL season.

A standout junior from New South Wales, Freeburn will make the move north after a very successful campaign with the Southwest Metro Pirates in last season's QBL.

Prior to playing for the Pirates in Brisbane, Freeburn also had a two-year stint playing in the QBL with the Bundaberg Bears.

Global Product Search Meteorettes Head Coach Wade Rebetzke said he was looking forward to seeing the 165cm floor general run the team this season.

"Heidi is a special talent and we definitely recruited her hard to make sure she joined our program," Rebetzke said.

"She played very well against us last year and was extremely consistent throughout the whole QBL season and we'll be looking for her to do the same for us."

"She's been in the League here now for a few seasons so she know the expectations and I believe she'll be a big part of the winning culture we hope to develop this season," Rebetzke added.

Freeburn arrived in Mackay on Tuesday and will commence training with the team on Thursday.
