Mixed results in Rollers double-header

THE Rollers have put a "huge dent" in their Queensland Basketball League title aspirations after an 89-88 loss to the Force in Ipswich yesterday.

Riding high after a win against competition favourites Townsville last week, the Rollers entered the weekend's double-header on a high and played that way, crushing South West Metro 96-70 at Carrara last night.

While today's clash was tighter, the Rollers looked home when they extended their lead to double-figures early in the final term against Ipswich.

They had taken a one-point lead to the long break in a high-scoring first half and pushed the margin out to six at the final change.

But the Force hit back in the final term, outscoring the visitors 19-5 in the last five minutes as the Rollers' execution fell apart.
