Mountaineers Primed with Legan Signing

The Clive Berghofer Toowoomba Mountaineers would like to announce that they have finalised negotiations with James Legan and have signed the Shooting Guard for 2012 Season.

This comes hot on the heels of the Announcement that his former East Carolina Teammate, Chad Wynn, will also join the Tri-Colours this season.

Toowoomba has now finished there search for import players for both the Men and Women QBL Sides, with Kisha Lee and Janelle Adams also due to arrive in the Garden City prior to Season start.

James Legan was an integral piece to the Mountaineers Club in 2011 as they rebuilt the program, with the side just missing out on the playoffs by only one game. Legan combined with the current 2012 Mountaineers squad should see Toowoomba back in the playoff picture once again.

But Coach Pop Dickerson concedes that it won’t be easy. “Other QBL teams have also announced some major signings recently, We must continue to work hard if we are going to make the playoffs. It is by no means out of reach for us.”

“Bringing James back to help lead this team is great for Toowoomba Basketball, He loves the City of Toowoomba and is a very loyal guy, he wants to take us all the way”

The squad has been ramping up there pre-season in recent weeks. Undergoing “Boot Camp” style fitness and weight training. “This will show a major improvement in our fitness from last year. Last year we were we were just hitting our straps half way through the season. This year we hope to be ready from the get go”

The season kicks off on Saturday May the 12th against the Ipswich Force at the USQ Clive berghofer Recreation Centre.
