Pre Season Game, Perfect Fundraising Opportunity for the Kids
A Pre Season game is the perfect way for the Clive Berghofer Toowoomba Mountaineers to test their season readiness and raise much needed funds for the Toowoomba Children’s Appeal.
Toowoomba residents are invited to come along to see Toowoomba’s only state league team play at the Water Street Stadium 6.00pm, Saturday 25 February when they take on Mt Crosby in a pre season match up. The game promises to showcase the enthusiasm of this year’s team and will be great evening entertainment for all ages.
Entry will be a gold coin donation, with all proceeds from the evening going to the Toowoomba Children’s Appeal. This appeal is run by the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and has been the Mountaineer’s chosen charity for some years. This will be the first of many fundraising events held throughout the season.
With the team now well into pre season training Coach “Pop” Dickerson is quietly confident, “This year we hope to be ready from the get go”. The squad has been ramping up their pre-season preparations in recent weeks. Undergoing “Boot Camp” style fitness and weight training. “This will show a major improvement in our fitness from last year. Last year we were we were just hitting our straps half way through the season”.
