New QBL Referee Commissioner appointed

Basketball Queensland would like to welcome Corey Croft to the 2009 Queensland Basketball League (QBL) season.  Corey was recently appointed to the position of Referee Commissioner and will bring with him a wealth of experience.  Since 2007 Corey has been a standout State and National League Referee Coach, while remaining firmly active at the grass roots level involved with Top of the North Carnivals, Tropical Youth League, State Classics, and National Junior Championships.  Corey has a firm understanding of the game at the elite level, given that he is a current and active QBL referee and will prove to be an asset to the League in 2009.

A very large thank-you to Graham Lebbern who has worked tirelessly in the role of QBL Referee Commissioner since 1999.  Graham was instrumental in the introduction of 3-man refereeing in the Men’s QBL and will remain as a mentor to many referee’s in the League.
