Size does matter

A seven-foot giant with brains and brawn is on his way to lead the Rockhampton Stadium Nightclub Rockets in this year's QBL.

Rockhampton Basketball Incorporated yesterday announced the signing of former NBL big man Justin Brown to join the Rockets' state championship defence.

Brown, who stands at 213cm or seven-foot in the old scale, will arrive in Rockhampton in a fortnight after playing professionally in Australia, Italy, Germany, Great Britain and China and is also a graduate of the acclaimed University of Connecticut.

The towering centre last played in the NBL for the Brisbane Bullets in the 2007-08 season before the foundation club folded.

Brown played at Rockhampton's Hegvold Stadium during that season when he joined a Bullets team against the touring University of Utah.
