Jamaicans move to semi-final against NZ

Northern Ireland players were all geared up for a hard game but gave the Jamaicans as good as they got in a fiercely fought battle on the court on Monday evening.
The first quarter was fairly evenly played with the score at 17-10.
Many of Jamaica’s subsequent points were scored by feeding high lobs to Romelda Aiken in the goal circle from the centre court so that all she had to do was pop the ball into the hoop and the points starting adding up.
The Jamaican’s play didn’t flow as well as in other games. They were easily worried by the pressure maintained by Northern Ireland.
Irish shooters Lisa and Kyla Bowman kept their composure under pressure from the Jamaican defense and were successful with some very difficult shots. Northern Ireland did well to keep Jamaica’s score down to 76-38.
Jamaica will play New Zealand in Tuesday’s semi-final.
